Cuqui Jerez, spanische Tänzerin und Choreografin, beschäftigt sich mit der Bedeutungs- und Zeichenproduktion von Choreografie. Ihre Produktion The real fiction (2005) wurde als das "vermutlich überraschendste Stück Theater der letzten Jahre und mit Sicherheit eines der lustigsten" (Kampnagel) gefeiert. Sie arbeitet an einer choreografischen Sprache des Körpers in Verhältnis zu Objekten, Raum und Zeit, wobei sie diese Bezugsgrößen auf humorvolle Weise manipuliert und damit die Erwartungshaltung wie die Wahrnehmungsmuster der Zuschauer immer wieder neu auf die Probe stellt.
