Info
Wooden and steel constructions. A provisional house, a workshop, natural and industrial materials, loosely assembled and taut at the same time. In Vladimir Miller’s stage set, the three performers, Rémy Héritier, An Kaler and Philipp Gehmacher cast concepts and sentences into space like signs; they say their names as if they need to remember, as if they want to make a mark and make sure of themselves. In varying interplay of movement and text, landscape emerge that are not to be found in the here and now. The title in their name on the one hand relates to the naming of things and the resulting production of reality/realities; on the other hand memories and representation are brought into play. in their name thereby refers both to the others in a self and to the own name as carrier and projection surface.
Philipp Gehmacher poses very precise, fundamental questions in his works – questions of dance as well as of general human relationships. His movements connect the dancing body with the everyday body, without generating simple, representative images.
