Definition: An oxymoron is a figure of speech that juxtaposes elements that appear to be contradictory. Oxymorons appear in a variety of contexts, including inadvertent errors and literary oxymorons crafted to reveal a paradox.

PINION & CROWN ensemble presents: „OXYMORON“, a dance performance about two people finding each other and searching for connections under all circumstances.

We would like to propose: Who do we trust?… ourselves, you, them, people, citizens, politicians, presidents, kings, the European Union, the world, God…?

How far can we trust? To what extent can we trust our own bodies?

Dance is our language of choice to propose arguments. Using partnering in dance is an especially important tool for us and is particularly relevant in this piece.

As the topic of trust and distrust are directly at the base of partnering work, we would like to bring this idea to the attention of the audience by using the “trick” of partnering.

Trust and distrust are also very relevant themes in modern day society.

How often do we distrust ourselves or others?

How far do you think we can go with our bodies and minds?

We are open to new discoveries and inspiration that occurs during the creative process and like to allow ourselves to ask: “And what if…?”
